AppSumo activation — step by step
AppSumo activation — step by step
If you bought Hubbee through AppSumo, this is the only article you need to get from “purchased on AppSumo” to “running Hubbee” in under five minutes.
Two ways to activate
AppSumo issues you a license key for Hubbee (a unique key tied to your AppSumo account — not a HUBBEE-… code). You can activate it either way:
- One click (recommended): On your AppSumo Products page, click Access product on Hubbee. AppSumo sends you to Hubbee, you sign in or create an account, and your Lifetime activates automatically.
- Manual: Sign in to Hubbee, open the Redeem page, and paste your AppSumo license key.
Your tier depends on which deal you bought:
- Lite Lifetime — 5 sites, 1 workspace, 1 member, 1 external content source
- Starter Lifetime — 10 sites, 1 workspace, 3 members, up to 3 client logins
- Business Lifetime — 50 sites, 3 workspaces, 10 members, 25 client logins per workspace
Step 1: Create your Hubbee account
If you don’t already have one:
- Go to app.hubbee.io/register (or let “Access product” take you there)
- Sign up with the same email address you used for AppSumo (makes refund verification trivial)
- Confirm via the email we send
If you already have a Hubbee account, just sign in.
Step 2: Activate
If you clicked “Access product” on AppSumo: you’re already here — your Lifetime activates as soon as you finish signing up or signing in. Nothing to paste.
If you’re activating manually:
- Click your account avatar → Redeem, or visit
/redeem - Paste your AppSumo license key exactly as AppSumo shows it — we normalise casing for you
- Click Redeem
What happens server-side:
- Hubbee validates the license against the AppSumo licensing registry
- Confirms you’re the workspace owner (only owners can activate)
- Verifies the license hasn’t been used by another account and isn’t refunded
- Flips your account to Lite, Starter, or Business Lifetime
- The new limits and features become available immediately
You’ll see a green success banner with the plan name, and the Plan indicator in the header now shows your new tier.
Step 3: Connect your first site
Now that you have lifetime access, connect your first WordPress site — the activation flow drops you straight into Connect your first site. Limits stay generous:
- Lite Lifetime: 5 sites
- Starter Lifetime: 10 sites
- Business Lifetime: 50 sites
You can also download the WordPress plugin directly.
Stacking for a higher tier
You can stack a higher-tier license to upgrade. Important: stacking moves you to a higher tier; it does not add sites or seats on top of your existing tier.
The ladder is Lite → Starter → Business.
Example: You bought Lite (5 sites) and want Starter (10 sites). Buy a Starter deal on AppSumo, then activate it on the same Hubbee account — you now have Starter Lifetime with 10 sites. The Lite license is consumed, but the upgrade is permanent. The same works from Starter to Business.
See Code stacking rules for the precise mechanics.
Common activation errors
“This license is linked to another account.” — Your AppSumo license is bound to the first Hubbee account that activated it. Sign in with that account, or contact info@hubbee.io with your AppSumo order ID.
“This code has already been redeemed.” — Your Lifetime is already active on this account. Check the Plan indicator in the header — you’re all set.
“You are not the workspace owner.” — Only the user who created the workspace can activate a license into it. If you joined a workspace as an invited member, create your own workspace and activate there.
“Downgrade not allowed” / “already at this tier.” — You can’t apply a Lite license to an account that’s already on Starter or Business, nor a Starter license to a Business account, and re-applying the same tier does nothing. Stacking only moves you up the tier ladder.
“You have an active paid subscription.” — Cancel your monthly Paddle subscription first (it won’t cancel automatically), then activate your Lifetime license. Your data stays put.
“Rate limit exceeded.” — More than 5 attempts in 60 seconds. Wait one minute and try again — this is brute-force protection, almost always a typo loop.
What “lifetime” actually means
You paid once. Your account stays on this plan for as long as Hubbee operates as a service. No annual renewals. No price hikes. Future features within your tier are included.
If Hubbee shuts down: we commit to giving 90 days’ notice. The WordPress plugin is already GPL v2 and caches everything locally, so your sites keep working with the data you already own, and we’d ship a full export. See Lifetime Deal FAQ for the long version.
